Dear Alan,

Athletes, Parents, and Coaches:

Are you kidding me?  I mean honestly, we've had some amazing races from Storm athletes but I have never seen such an impressive day of performances.  Every age-group, boys and girls, you guys all KILLED IT!  How about the fact that I didn't see one of you quit at the end of the race.  GUTS and more GUTS is what I saw.  Absolutely amazing!  We had first year runners within seconds of kids that were  top 5 in the nation last year.  No joke.  Plenty of kids also finished with over 1 minute pr's from the same course last year.  WOW, more accolades coming this week.  That was such an amazing day; I literally could call it a season right now.

But... that's only the beginning.  Enjoy this race... for a day.  Monday starts prep for another week.

So let's get to it.  This week we have the lapathon Monday night, 1 hour of continuous running at Saugus High.  Bring your forms and donations.  We'll follow that up with some tough intervals and hills on Tuesday and Thursday.  We have to get you guys ready for your newest challenge.  You newbies got broken in at O'Melvany, now you get to experience one of the most challenging courses out there.  You are going to love it!

Finally, I want to talk nutrition.  I've received a lot of questions related to what to take, how much, and which products are good?  Well, I've decided to put together a seminar on this topic.  The truth is nutrition is a key ingredient to being a successful athlete.  In the sport of triathlon, they refer to nutrition as the 4th discipline.  From daily life, to training, recovery and racing, it is essential to have a nutritional plan.  I'll share with you my experiences, some facts, science, and the Shaklee nutritional supplements I have used for over 14 years.  Fortunately, you don't need to wait too long for this.  I am going to put it on this coming Friday the 16th from 6:30-7:30pm.  It is open to anyone including SOME of your kids, midgets and older only.  Please grab a babysitter for any other children.  Shoot me an email if you'd like to attend: Jeremy.stepan@adageit.com.   I will follow up with location specifics when I see how much interest there is.

Thanks again for your commitment and hard work; you are making it an amazing season!

"One Hurdle at a Time" Bracelets
Justin Baltau

Once you wear the Santa Clarita Storm uniform, you are part of one big family. The support of this family extends far beyond a cross country course or the track and into everyday life.

When we received word that one of our family members, Justin Baltau, was in need the response was overwhelming.  As he continues to take life "One Hurdle At A Time" now is your opportunity to show Justin that you are there with him. Created especially for the Storm, in limited quantities, these purple "One Hurdle At A Time" silicon bracelets are your chance to not only help the Baltau family offset medical expenses but to show your support for the Storm family. Available for a minimum donation of $2, these can be a daily reminder to us all of how perseverance can overcome any hurdle we might face and cross the finish line together.
