Dear Alan,

What a great day we had on Saturday! Storm took the #1 team position in 6 out of our 8 races! Even more exciting than that were some of the break out performances we had from individuals! Stay tuned for results to be posted shortly on our website...

It's back to work on Monday night as we prepare for the balance of the season...This week will look a lot like last week from a training standpoint...Here's what you can expect...

Monday- 6pm @ Heritage Park

Another long distance night...Make sure you arrive on time tonight...We'll be bypassing the dynamic warm-up drills in the interest of daylight...Can't wait to share stories from Saturday on this conversational run...

Tuesday- 6pm @ Saugus High Track

We'll be on the track for an interval workout again...This is the most important practice of the week! If you can only make one practice, try and make it this one! These workouts work the best when the entire age group is present...We need to take turns pushing the pace and stretching our ability to handle discomfort...See you at the track!

Thursday- 6pm @ Central Park

Tonight will be a tempo workout...Tempo pace is about 30 seconds slower per mile than your XC race pace...You should feel strong and steady during this run...Talking should be difficult...You should start to sweat within 3 minutes of starting your run...

Next Sunday we'll have the privilege of running at Mt Sac...This is one of the most famous XC courses in the world! Based on our performance at Pierce College, we have nothing to worry about...You've all certainly earned your place on that famous starting line...

See you Monday night...Until then...

Yours in Running,

Coach Darren
