Events:
 
Running Events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 4x100m, 4x400m, 80m Hurdles, 100m Hurdles
 
Field Events:
Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump
 
Track is the one sport that is good training for all sports, whether its Football, Basketball, Soccer, or Baseball, Track & Field will improve your speed, endurance and coordination.
 
 
Practice will begin on March 1st, 2010

Welcome to the 2010 Track season.  We have a few things going on in the next few weeks as we prepare for the season to start. They are explained in detail below but I want to bring them to your attention.
 
We will be having a coaches meeting on February 17 at Valencia High School in room 620. All coaches and any volunteers who will be working with the kids must attend this meeting. This is a very important meeting please try to attend.
 
We will also be having a new parent orientation on February 25 at Valencia High school in the multi-purpose room. If you are new to our program please try to attend this important meeting.

Track & Field 2010 Sign Ups 
 We thank everyone for taking the time to either mail in or drop off your registrations for the 2010 Track season we are still accepting Sign ups for Track 2010, However team size is limited and we are near full. Once we reach our maximum size we will start a waiting list. Athletes will be moved from the waiting list to the roster as space becomes available. We will try to accommodate everyone who applies to the club for membership. Registration paperwork on our website is still on, but as soon as we reach our maximum size we will remove the link to the sign-up paperwork.
 
Coaching 2010 
The coaches meeting will be held on February 17 @ 7:30 PM in Room 620 at Valencia High School, All coaches and assistants must attend this meeting, please contact Elaine Bingham or Michele Ewing for more information about the coaches meeting.
 
If your interested in coaching for us, or even just assisting then you must attend this meeting. We have some conference rules changes that need to be explained and other important plans for the season.
 
Head to Head Competition
Registration included, all race fees, uniforms, award ribbons for all events completed in, tracking of their personal best performance and recognition via a PR award ribbon. End of Season Awards picnic with a trophies going to each athlete on the team, Scholastic awards for athletes who maintain 3.5 GPA during season. chance to win more awards, chance for national competition via conference all star post season team. and more
 
Parent Orientation Meeting 
The New Parent Orientation meeting will be held on Thursday February 25, 2010. @ 6:30 PM We ask all parents of new athletes to attend this meeting.

The meeting will be held at Valencia High School in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) (Where the Church meets.) it is best to park in the lot off Decoro Drive, and then go into the school gate, the MPR is located on the right side of the school.

If you are new to our program we ask that you attend this important meeting.

 
Coaches Training Clinic
We will be having a coaches clinic on Feb 21, 2010 @ Birmingham HS, in Van Nuys, Please register with the LA84 Foundation by clicking here. This high quality training clinic is free to attend. Every one who attends get a CD with a training manual on it.
 
Fitness Club 
 
 
This year we're adding a fitness program, 
 
If you want to get into shape, then this is the program for you. The plan so far is that we will warm up at the same time as the kids, then we have at least 1 hour to do our own workout. We'll have to leave the track area as it is reserved for the kids, but we will have an area to do our own work outs. be ready to get into shape as we start this decade off right! There will be a fee and a registration, so do keep an eye here for more information.
